Since taking office on 1 Dirk Zinglers July 2004 has the 1 FC Union Berlin gradually stabilized, and athletic and economic development. The painful descent into the fourth-Oberliga was used to a full restart. After the immediate resurgence in the regional league to qualify for the newly created single track followed by 3rd League, in which the sovereign won the championship, finally returning to the 2 Bundesliga for the 2009/2010 season meant.
Parallel to the renaissance sports club with the acquisition and redevelopment of the stadium at the old forester’s a fundamentally new development perspective has been opened. The stadium on its own represents a milestone in the history of the 1st FC Union Berlin.
